Meet
Courtney Puckett

MA, CF-SLP

Courtney is a Speech Therapist and has worked with children throughout her career. She began her career as a one-to-one assistant in an EC Pre-K classroom where she often worked with the school's speech therapist. She received her bachelor's degree in elementary education with a concentration in reading at East Carolina University and worked as a classroom teacher for four years. As a classroom teacher she collaborated with the speech therapist to ensure students were working toward their goals. She loved working with language and building those skills, especially in individual and small group settings. She received speech therapy as a child and her son has received speech services as well. She noticed how much speech therapists impacted her life and she became interested in pursuing this as a career. She then discovered the communication sciences and disorders program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she received her Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. Courtney believes in a child-led approach to her practice and highlighting each child's creativity.

Courtney has a husband and together they have two young kids. She and her husband are musicians and play in multiple groups including a band that performs original children's music. She loves spending time with her family hanging out at home, going to community events, or traveling.  When she wants to relax she enjoys gardening, skating, and knitting.
